Kids' Class Package Balance Tracker: Purchased, Used, Credited, and Remaining
Calculate an eight-session package balance with attended classes, a charged absence, and a confirmed credit while respecting the provider's rules and Coleo's limits.
Calculate remaining sessions from purchased sessions, provider-counted use, and confirmed credits. Keep attendance and financial treatment separate: a child can miss a class that the provider counts as used, and a later credit can restore that session without creating another purchase.

This guide handles the basic package ledger; the music guide adds moved lessons and holiday makeups. The eight-session example below is entirely fictitious, including its cancellation policy. It is not a provider agreement, a claim about typical rules, or Coleo app data.
Define which events change the balance
Record the child, provider, activity, purchase date, sessions included, and provider-stated validity. Keep payment evidence separate from the session ledger. Ask how advance cancellations, late absences, provider cancellations, and approved makeups are counted before recording their effect.
The example package costs USD 160 for eight sessions. Its invented rules count attended classes and late absences as consumed, preserve sessions for provider cancellations, and permit a credit only after explicit approval. A credit here means one session restored, not USD 20 returned to a bank account.
Example: reconcile an eight-session package
W indicates a week in the family's local package period. Each row follows the provider's confirmed treatment. The cancellation in Week 3 never consumed a session; the Week 6 credit reverses the separate Week 5 absence debit.
- Four attended sessions and one charged absence create five debits.
- One confirmed credit reverses one debit: 8 - 5 + 1 = 4 remaining.
- Four remaining sessions have a USD 80 allocation at the original rate, not a guaranteed refund value.

Handle a difference between Coleo and the provider
Coleo's verified package count subtracts taken class entries, including an initial used count where entered. Skipped entries do not consume sessions, and there is no verified automatic provider-policy credit ledger. A skipped entry for Week 5 therefore cannot by itself represent the charged absence accurately in the package balance.
Keep the attendance truthful, add a class note about the provider's debit and later credit, and maintain the exception ledger alongside it. The counts happen to match again after the reversal, but that coincidence does not verify every intermediate balance. Before renewal, ask the provider to confirm the four sessions and the actual final usable date.
Inside the app
Coleo can record a parent's package count and dated taken/skipped class history with notes. It is not the provider's attendance collection, billing, or credit-approval system. Do not invent expiry alerts or mark a missed class attended just to force a numeric match.

A balance becomes useful when every change is explainable. Count provider-confirmed consumption and credits, retain uncertain items visibly, and separate remaining lessons from money that might or might not be refundable.
