Sibling Activity Schedule Organizer: Find Conflicts Between the Classes
Work through a realistic sibling pickup conflict using departure times, travel windows, named adults, and directly confirmed handoffs.
For each sibling's activity, plan the journey as well as the class: departure, arrival, collection, and the adult responsible. Then compare the adult's full timeline. A five-minute gap between classes does not work when the locations are twenty minutes apart.
- Check required arrival time, not just the advertised start.
- Include parking, walking, and collection time where relevant.
- Record adult agreement after the conversation, not before it.
This is a logistics worksheet for parents, not a childcare authorization system. All people, places, and times below are invented. Real addresses, collection permissions, and contact details should be handled through the family's and provider's appropriate channels.
Work backward from each handoff
Ask each provider when children may arrive and when collection must happen. An adult may need to remain during a lesson, so do not assume drop-off is permitted. Next, estimate the journey at the relevant time of day and allow for the actual handoff rather than treating arrival at the building as completion.
Use neutral location labels in a broadly shared plan. The adults doing the journey still need the correct address, but a printed weekly overview need not expose a child's entire route to everyone who sees it. Keep the latest plan date visible so old arrangements are recognizable.
Example: a fifteen-minute gap that does not work
Maya's music lesson ends at 16:00 at Venue A. Leo's art class starts at 16:15 at Venue B, with arrival requested by 16:10. The journey between venues takes 20 minutes and collection takes 5 minutes. One adult collecting Maya at 16:00 cannot get Leo there by 16:10.
The alternative only becomes usable after Parent B agrees and the provider's collection requirements are satisfied. Without that agreement, the family still has a conflict and must consider another class time or arrangement.

Confirm the revised plan and its fallback
Tell each adult the child, destination, required time, equipment, and return arrangement. Ask for an explicit acknowledgment and record when it was received. Do not send unnecessary fee or receipt details with a pickup-only message.
Check what happens if an adult becomes unavailable or a class finishes early. Follow the provider's contact and collection procedure; a planner cannot arrange supervision. After the first trip, replace an optimistic estimate with the observed journey time and recheck any following commitment.
