Privacy Policy - Playlift

Last updated: June 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Playlift ("Playlift", "the App", "we", "our", "us") is an iOS app from Gaia Super Lab that helps you transfer playlists between Spotify and Apple Music. This Privacy Policy explains what information Playlift accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Playlift does not require a Playlift account. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your Spotify or Apple Music data for advertising.

2. Information Playlift Accesses

2.1. Spotify information

If you connect Spotify, Playlift may use the Spotify Web API to authenticate you, read playlists you choose to access, read tracks in selected playlists, search the Spotify catalog, create playlists in your Spotify account, and add tracks to playlists when you ask Playlift to complete a transfer.

Expected Spotify permissions may include playlist-read-private, playlist-read-collaborative, playlist-modify-private, and playlist-modify-public.

2.2. Apple Music information

If you allow Apple Music access, Playlift may use MusicKit and Apple Music APIs to ask for permission, read playlists you choose to access, read tracks in selected playlists, search Apple Music, create playlists in your library, and add songs to playlists when you ask Playlift to complete a transfer.

2.3. Playlist and track metadata

To match music between services, Playlift may process playlist names, track titles, artist names, album names, durations, identifiers, and related music metadata. Playlift does not store or transfer music files or audio recordings.

2.4. Purchases and subscriptions

If Playlift offers paid features, trials, or subscriptions, Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase history, subscription status, entitlement status, anonymous app user identifiers, renewals, cancellations, restorations, and related purchase events so the App can manage access to paid features.

2.5. Product analytics and technical data

Playlift may use product analytics to understand general app usage, feature performance, conversion funnels, paywall performance, crashes, diagnostics, app version, device type, operating system version, and similar technical information.

Product analytics must not include playlist names, track names, artist names, raw playlist contents, Spotify tokens, Apple Music tokens, backups, credentials, or music files.

3. How Playlift Uses Information

We use information to:

  • connect Spotify and Apple Music accounts when you authorize them,
  • show playlists and tracks you choose to transfer,
  • match tracks across Spotify and Apple Music,
  • create destination playlists and add matched tracks,
  • let you review matches before completing transfers,
  • manage subscriptions, trials, purchases, entitlements, and purchase restoration,
  • measure general app usage and improve feature performance,
  • respond to support requests and troubleshoot technical issues.

4. Local Processing and Third-Party APIs

Playlift processes transfers primarily on your device. Music metadata is sent to Spotify and Apple Music only when needed to authenticate, search, read selected playlists, create destination playlists, or add tracks as part of a transfer you request.

Playlift uses official Spotify and Apple APIs. Spotify and Apple Music data is not used for advertising, resale, profiling, AI or machine-learning training, or unrelated background collection.

5. Third-Party Services

Playlift may work with these third-party services:

  • Spotify - authentication, playlist access, catalog search, playlist creation, and adding tracks.
  • Apple Music / MusicKit - media permission, library playlist access, catalog search, playlist creation, and adding songs.
  • RevenueCat - subscriptions, trials, purchases, entitlements, restore purchases, and revenue metrics.
  • Product analytics providers - general app usage, feature performance, conversion, diagnostics, and crash measurement.

These providers operate under their own policies. You can review them here:

  • Spotify Privacy Policy: https://www.spotify.com/legal/privacy-policy/
  • Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/
  • RevenueCat Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to provide Playlift's features, manage purchases, run authorized transfers, improve reliability, or comply with legal obligations.

We do not send the following to analytics:

  • playlist names,
  • track names,
  • artist names,
  • raw playlist contents,
  • Spotify or Apple Music tokens,
  • credentials, backups, or music/audio files.

7. Retention

Playlist transfer data is primarily handled on your device for the transfer flow. Locally stored preferences, cached metadata, or app state may remain on your device until you clear it, disconnect a service, reset the App, or uninstall the App.

Purchase and subscription records handled by Apple or RevenueCat may be retained by those providers under their own policies and legal obligations.

8. Your Choices

You can control access and data through these options:

  • Disconnect Spotify in Playlift if the App provides a disconnect control.
  • Revoke Spotify access from your Spotify account settings or connected apps settings.
  • Revoke Apple Music and media permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Manage subscriptions from your Apple ID subscription settings.
  • Delete Playlift from your device to remove local app data, subject to iOS backup behavior.
  • Contact support for privacy questions or deletion requests.

9. Children

Playlift is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information associated with Playlift. However, no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

11. International Users

Third-party services such as Spotify, Apple, RevenueCat, and analytics providers may process information in countries outside your own. Their practices are governed by their own policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use of Playlift after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
